Job description
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for assisting vessels connecting and disconnecting to shore power at arrival and departure. Besides communication with all involved parties it includes installing, modifying, commissioning, repairing, maintaining shore power systems including motors, electrical switchgear and switchboards, electronic controllers, PLCs and computers on board large ocean-going vessels.
The Field Service Engineer will work closely with customers, manufacturers, vendors and other service partners to assure and improve operation of the equipment. This position will be hands-on and requires a varied skill set strong in value engineering and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
· Electric Engineering Bachelor Degree
· Minimum 2 years of experience in Electric Engineering
· Fluent in Turkish and English language
Responsibilities and Duties
· Communication between cooperating parties and assist to ensure smooth operation of electrical and mechanical equipment
· Performing maintenance including field installation, validation, and testing of electronic, electric and mechanic components
· Troubleshooting by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems and using electrical meters, calibration equipment, mobile and handheld computer systems, hand tools, PLC, operator interface, data collection, and safety-related control systems
· Remove and replace defective parts by properly dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools, examining form and texture of parts
· Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules, and regulations
Qualifications and Skills
· Knowledge of low voltage and line voltage AC and DC systems and relays, high voltage experience including terminations a plus.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills Electrical/mechanical aptitude, advanced skills in one or more of the following areas a plus: software, electronics, low and high voltage electrical, mechanical and propulsion systems, automation, PLC programming, Ethernet network/Serial communication.
· Basic hydraulic and machine repair knowledge a plus.
· Must be an avid user of computer software including Microsoft Office
· Ability to read Schematics.
· Ability to write reports, effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
· Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and repair equipment, able to climb ladders, stairs, and lift minimum 40 pounds Willingness and desire to work independently.
· Frequent local travel.
· Able to work irregular and on call hours with unstable work shift schedule.

Working conditions are marine/industrial environments which require the use of company uniform and safety equipment, to include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe work boots, hardhat and safety vests.
